2015 Wrap Up! 2016, Here We Come!

It’s the end of the year: time to get all sentimental about what I’ve achieved and what I haven’t in one year. Then moving on to the feeling that there is so much I had hoped or even planned to do, and the realisation that no human will ever do all those glorious things we all dream about. All in all a fairly depressing time.

And also time for a recap. What happened on this blog, what happened in my life? How is this blog, which was supposed to run for one year at first, going to continue? And how is my life going to continue?

Well, let’s dive right into it, shall we?

Of course, and without hesitation I can reassure you that this blog will continue to run as long as my stressy brain can keep up with my green aspirations. I will break free from my weekly post structure, though, and allow myself to freely ramble as I see fit. Sometimes you might not hear of me in weeks, other times you will curse your inbox (which would make me very happy). I have had a lot of posts in the making that I will share with you in the new year. It will definitely get a little more philosophical around here. I hope we’ll have a lovely 2016 together πŸ˜‰

What is going to happen then, in my life that I can ramble about? To answer this, we will have to look back at what happened in the year that has passed in terms of zero waste, minimalism, and other issues.

Note: This developed into a ridiculously long post, which is why I split up my recap into its different categories. Just click below on the topics that interest you and see what’s happened and what is going to happen in 2016. I’ll also update those pages regularly to let you know my progress.

Zero Waste Related:

  1. Grocery Shopping
  2. Bathroom
  3. On the Go
  4. Cleaning
  5. Self Made & Foraged Food

Minimalism Related:

  1. Ditching Consumerism
  2. Fashion
  3. Sharing
  4. Slow Living

Other issues:

  1. Vegetarianism
  2. Transportation
  3. Water & Power
  4. Information & Education

2015 has been a great and exciting year, and I’ve managed to send over 47 blog post out into the world which were seen by over 1,200 people! My focus on how to unfuckup this world has centred manly around zero waste living and minimalism, but as you can see, there has been plenty of other topics I could still talk about, and which I will explore further in the new year.

In April, I was very excited to be allowed to be a member of the freshly founded Zero Waste Bloggers Network, which has now grown into an actual international not-for-profit organisation with its own website, which you can find here. I’m very happy to be part of it and get invaluable tips and tricks about how others tackle their waste problem. If you have a blog and would like to be part of the network, please contact Inge here. If you don’t have a blog but are very interested in reducing your waste, wherever you live, make sure to join the Zero Waste Heroes facebook group!

I have also participated in Plastic Free July and Zero Waste Week in September and gained a lot of knowledge and insight. Click the link to read more about my experiences.

On another note, as you can see I’ve polished the image of this pretty little blog a bit. I hope you like it! I’m trying to get a little more ‘professional’ with this blog, even though I don’t plan to make profit with it yet. Nonetheless, I you probably won’t feel too much of that, too many other things are calling for my attention πŸ˜‰

I wish everybody a Happy New Year that that 2016 will be a great year for you and your family, your dog and mouse, your neighbors and hairdressers, and that all your resolutions shall in one way or another be destroyed or fulfilled!

Happy New Year Kopie

You’ve made huge changes this year, it’s exciting. I’ve loved your blog this year, and I’m excited to see what comes next. I’m all about go with the flow blogging, although I’d like to be a bit more consistent.

Thanks, your words mean a lot to me πŸ™‚ The reason why I did one post a week were the same, to limit procrastination, but especially when I was very busy it was an additional pressure, so I decided to take it easy this year πŸ˜‰ Best wishes

Love the heading artwork! And I look forward to following you in 2016! Funny; I told myself I would continue with a weekly blog post this year, and knowing how much of a commitment that is, told myself the flowing year I’d just go with the flow… πŸ™‚

Thanks! I’m sure you will manage to blog weekly; for me, it was mostly lack of preparation that made it quite hard. If you have one or two drafts on hold, you will be fine! I’m really looking forward to your weekly posts, though!! πŸ™‚
